I haven't been in London long, but I am already IN LOVE! We landed at about noon on Wednesday, so I met up with my roommate and we took a cab to our "flat"! I'm still getting used to some of the language here, and that the cars drive on the wrong side of the road! Every time I cross the street I have to think about which ways to look.
The flat I am staying in is much bigger than I expected, which is nice. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and I lucked out with 3 great roommates!
After we arrived and got settled in, we went for a walk around the neighborhood. It is very safe, and just a 15 minute walk from Ealing where there are all kinds of shops and pubs. The first night a bunch of us went to a few pubs, but my favorite was The North Star. It's a small place but there is a deck to sit on outside, I'm sure we will go back there a again!
It was hard to sleep the first night, but I'm sure I'll be used to it in no time. Thursday we made our way to the CAPA center for a day of orientation. It was long, but all the information will be useful. We also got to do a scavenger hunt, this way we really got to explore Kensington.
On Friday I met up with my friend from high school, Petra. We went out to eat for her birthday at a Indian place in Kensington. It was great food and great conversation. I hadn't seen her in a long time, and she has picked up a little London slang. Then I met up with the other students at Imperial College. This is a school in Kensington and we got to meet a bunch of students there! Meeting locals our age was great, they gave us a lot of tips about where to go and where not to go.
Then Saturday we went on a bus tour with the other kids from school. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we got to see all the touristy sights. I tried to get some pictures, but it is hard to do on a bus. I think I'll be going back to try and explore a little more!
Here are some pictures!

The guard.
Big Ben!
Notice the cars on the right side of the street. This is the only street in London like that!
Best form of transportation. Even if we've gotten lost a couple times!
Westminster Abbey
The bridge that is destroyed by the Death Eaters in Harry Potter! We also saw Gringotts Bank but I couldn't get a picture.
Fountain outside Westminster Abbey where we threw coins and made some wishes!

Good job Addie! Keep it up, loved the update! Miss you! Have fun!
